O’Connell leads California Credit Union, the third largest credit union in Los Angeles County with $5 billion in assets. Last year the financial institution expanded into Ventura and San Bernadino counties following regulatory approval. O’Connell became president and chief executive in 2012 after serving as chief financial officer and chief operating officer. He serves as a member of the Board of Los Angeles Zoo & Botanical Gardens, as well as the Board for Classroom of the Future Foundation.
