Ganguly co-founded the venture capital firm B Capital in 2015 alongside Facebook’s co-founder Eduardo Saverin. Today the firm has over $6.3 billion in assets and Ganguly has led growth-stage investments in tech companies as co-chief executive. Currently, he serves on the bords of Lanetix, InTurn and Evidation Health and also serves as a senior advisor to Boston Consulting Group. Prior to B Capital, Ganguly was a managing partner at the Westwood-based Velos Partners, a growth-stage venture capital firm investing in consumer and tech companies. Before joining the venture capital world, Ganguly spent six years at Bain Capital investing in its tech vertical across the U.S. and Asia. Earlier in his career, he worked at McKinsey & Co., Diageo and Miradiant, one of the first internet payment startups. He earned an MBA from Harvard Business School and holds two bachelor’s degrees from the University of Pennsylvania, one from the Wharton school and one from the School of Engineering and Applied Science.

What’s the best advice you ever got?
Always be the last one still sitting at the table during a tough negotiation.

What’s your favorite movie, all time and in any category?
“Lost in Translation.” I lived in the same hotel in Tokyo for a while and loved watching the movie there.

What’s at the top of your bucket list?
Visiting Zanzibar.

What was your first car?
An old salvaged Acura that I got from the junkyard.

Like to have it back?
No, it had no airbags and barely went up the hills in Hollywood.

What’s the best thing about living in Los Angeles?
Walking the Strand in Manhattan Beach.
