Tetra Tech Inc. in Pasadena has won a federal government contract that could potentially bring it up to $1 billion in international water-management projects.
Winning the contract makes the engineering company eligible to bid for multiple water infrastructure projects coming up over the next five years with the U.S. Agency of International Development, or USAID. That agency’s projects aim to improve living conditions in democratic countries as a means of carrying out the federal government’s foreign policies.
Under the contract, Tetra Tech would provide engineering and consulting on projects to improve access to clean water and water sanitation for agricultural communities in developing countries. Additionally, Tetra Tech will also collect and analyze data on water issues and to develop ways to manage and better deliver water in those countries.
The new contract is the third and largest in a series of USAID water infrastructure projects Tetra Tech has won recently.
