Jacobs Engineering Group Inc. in Pasadena said Friday that it completed its $1.1 billion acquisition of Australian professional services firm Sinclair Knight Merz.

Sinclair Knight Merz has 6,900 employees worldwide, primarily in Australia, Asia, South America, and the United Kingdom. It provides services to the mining and metals, construction, water and power industries, and had revenue of about $1.2 million in fiscal 2013.

Shares closed up 27 cents, or less than 1 percent, to $56.76 on the New York Stock Exchange.
