A record 123 businesses across Southern California raised nearly $2 million during a spring fundraiser for Children’s Hospital Los Angeles, the hospital announced April 17.
The fourth annual CHLA Make March Matter fundraising campaign far exceeded the $1 million goal set by the East Hollywood hospital thanks to support from Los Angeles and the Coachella Valley.
The campaign was spearheaded by a record 47 events throughout the month of March at retail stores, restaurants, fitness centers, sporting events and more.
For the fourth consecutive year, Panda Express earned top honors for raising $400,000, according to the hospital. Moose Toys made a $200,000 gift. Porto’s Bakery & Café sold more than 19,000 CHLA-themed sugar cookies. The Los Angeles Kings hosted a CHLA-themed game.
The Los Angeles Chargers also joined Hollywood celebrities to help raise funds to support critical care for kids.
