Cedars-Sinai Medical Center has opened its first primary health care clinic in Santa Monica in an expanded medical practice that will include cancer and other specialties.

The Beverly Grove hospital announced Jan. 28 it has expanded the Cedars-Sinai medical offices at 1919 Santa Monica Blvd., home to an established gastroenterology practice.

“These enhanced offices are part of our ongoing efforts to meet the growing demand for outstanding, comprehensive health care close to where patients live and work, said Dr. John Jenrette, executive vice president of Cedars-Sinai Medical Network, in a statement.

The 34,000 square-foot office spread across four floors in downtown Santa Monica includes four primary care physicians, plus onsite laboratories and X-rays.

The new primary care clinic will also become home to the Angeles Clinic and Research Institute, an affiliate of Cedars-Sinai. It will soon add specialists in hematology and oncology, neurology, cardiology, as well as ear, nose and throat.

The Santa Monica office aims to serve patients from Pacific Palisades to West Los Angeles, also served by the acquisition of 133-bed Cedars-Sinai Marina del Rey Hospital in 2015 and new primary care and urgent care clinics in Culver City and Playa Vista.

It marks the 41st Cedars-Sinai primary care location between Tarzana and Inglewood, according to the Cedars-Sinai website.

“Making quality care more accessible to patients and consumers is part of our mission to the public,” said Thomas M. Priselac, chief executive for Cedars-Sinai, in a statement. “We look forward to serving the coastal communities for many years to come.”
