Washington law firm Venable has acquired Westwood firm Weingarten Brown, the firms announced Tuesday.

Alex Weingarten, former managing partner of Weingarten Brown, joins Venable as a partner at its Century City office. Six other attorneys joined as associates. All seven will be part of Venable’s commercial litigation practice. Other terms of the deal were not disclosed.

With the acquisition, Venable’s Los Angeles headcount grows from 55 to 62.
