The Dow Jones industrial average rose 138 points in Wednesday trading to close at 17,758.

The S&P 500 rose 14 points to 2,077.

The Nasdaq rose 26 points to 5,013.

The LABJ Stock Index rose two points to 234.

Gainers and Losers

Thursday’s biggest local gainer was Monrovia drone maker AeroVironment Inc. Shares rose 11 percent on the day, closing at $29.06 after posting better-than-expected earnings Tuesday.

Thursday’s biggest loser was Westwood oil giant California Resources Corp. Shares of the company fell 6 percent on the day, closing at $5.66.
