Stocks Fall; Landmark Rebounds, InterGroup Tumbles

The Dow Jones industrial average fell 261 points in Wednesday trading to close at 17,515. The trading day for NYSE-listed stocks was shortened by a technical issue that shut down trading for more than three hours.

The S&P 500 fell 35 points to 2,047.

The Nasdaq fell 88 points to 4,910.

The LABJ Stock Index fell three points to 232.

Gainers and Losers

Wednesday’s biggest local gainer was El Segundo’s Landmark Infrastructure Partners LP. Shares rose 8 percent on the day, closing at $15.10, erasing a big loss from a day earlier.

Wednesday’s biggest loser was Westwood real estate firm InterGroup Corp. Shares of the company fell 12 percent on the day, closing at $19.78.
