The weighted LABJ Stock Index went down 1 percent to close at 204. Laggers outpaced gainers by 83 to 71, with seven companies unchanged.
Digital Marketing company Conversant Inc. of Westlake Village was among the week’s leading gainers. Shares of Conversant rose 28 percent to end the week at $34.80 after it was announced that the company being bought by Alliance Data Systems in a $35-a-share deal valued at $2.3 billion. The deal is expected to close this year.
Rubicon Project Inc. also had a strong week. Shares rose 20 percent to close $11.48 on Friday. The Playa Vista advertising technology firm announced in late August an agreement with news website Business Insider to form a global private marketplace.
On the list of companies trading above $1, TrueCar Inc. of Santa Monica was among the week’s losing stocks. Shares of the company, which runs an online car buying platform, fell 10 percent to close at $19.75.
