The Los Angeles Business Journal’s index of the largest public companies rose for the week.

The weighted LABJ Stock Index went up 1.5 percent to close at 207. Gainers outpaced laggers, 98 to 56, with six companies unchanged.

Shares of Biosolar Inc., a solar energy company in Santa Clarita, rose 35 percent to close at 15 cents.

Van Nuys’ Equipment maker and semiconductor testing company Trio Tech International also had a strong week. Shares rose 30 percent to close $5.29.

Torrance drive-train maker Enova Systems Inc. was among the week’s losing stocks. Shares fell 43 percent to close at two cents. The company shut its doors and laid off all but one of its employees following a legal judgment it can’t pay.
