The Los Angeles Business Journal’s index of the area’s largest public companies fell for the week.
The weighted LABJ Stock Index went down 2.5 percent to close at 196. Losers outpaced gainers by 117 to 37, with seven companies unchanged.
Among the stocks that trade above a dollar, semiconductor manufacturer Trio Tech International of Van Nuys was among the week’s leading gainers. The company’s shares rose 15 percent to close $3.99 after reporting strong fourth quarter earnings.
Tix Corp, the discount show and dinner ticket seller in Studio City, also had a strong week. Shares rose 13 percent to close at $1.47 on Friday.
Arrowhead Research was among the week’s losing stocks. Shares fell 54 percent to close $6.37 after the Pasadena biotech firm released data on its ARC-520, a therapy for hepatitis B, which showed lower-than-expected efficacy.
