In Thursday trading, the Dow Jones industrial average rose 169 points, or 1.1 percent, to 15,461.
The Nasdaq jumped 58 points, or 1.6 percent, to 3,578.
The S&P 500 was up 22 points, or 1.4 percent, to 1,675.
The LABJ Stock Index rose 3 points to 167.
