The parent of Bank of Manhattan has named Terry Robinson as chief executive and president. A new board chairman also has been elected.
El Segundo-based Manhattan Bancorp’s previous CEO, Deepak Kumar, resigned from the company in late October and board member Harry Chenoweth has been serving as interim CEO.
Robinson has been chief executive of Plaza Bank of Irvine since June 2009. Before that he was president and chief executive of Vintage Bank and its Napa holding company, North Bay Bancorp.
Manhattan Bancorp’s board also elected as its new chairman Grant Couch, who became a director last year. He succeeds founding chairman Kyle Ransford, who will continue to serve on the board.
Couch has a 35-year career in the financial services industry, beginning with Manufacturers Hanover Trust in 1971. He retired as chief operating officer of Countrywide Securities Corp. in 2008.
