The Panda Restaurant Group announced plans today to expand their family office’s investment platform by bringing in Founding Partner and Managing General Partner of Breakaway Capital Warren Woo, and former Managing Director at Wells Fargo & Co. Carey Do Kim to the investment arm of the Cherng Family Trust Office in Los Angeles.
Woo comes to the organization as chief investment officer and Kim as a managing director.
Both will work in the investment branch assisting with widening the company’s platform through mostly “direct and indirect private equity, private debt and venture capital investments across various sectors, including hospitality,” according to the press release.
The Cherng Family Trust Office oversees the administration, investments and charity works of Panda Express co-founders Andrew and Peggy Cherng.
“We are thrilled to learn from and partner with Andrew and Peggy, as we collectively refine, develop and expand CFT’s Alternative Investment strategies. We will be very active in sourcing, underwriting and executing new investment opportunities of all types,” Warren Woo said in the press release.
