New York-based financial advisory firm Farther recently added Guild Investment Management, a Sawtelle-based registered investment advisory firm with $157 million in assets, to its portfolio.
Founded with the intention of streamlining efficiency through technological innovation in the wealth management space, Farther, which has $5 billion in assets under management, is a “digital-age family office,” said Chief Executive Taylor Matthews.
“Our technology provides clients with a single, unified view of all their family’s financial products and holdings, removing the paperwork, red tape and complication that are oftentimes the standard in our industry,” Matthews said.
After evaluating more than a dozen possible investment platforms, Guild President Anthony Danaher said the firm went with Farther to keep up with the evolving wealth management landscape through Farther’s tech-centric solutions.
Farther’s platform includes an automated money movement feature to streamline asset transfers and tax optimization tools to maximize after-tax returns. These features, among others, allow Farther advisers to spend 90% of their time on “meaningful client interactions… four times more than industry average,” Matthews said.
Under this partnership, all members of Guild’s team will stay on, simply integrating Farther’s technology into their usual operations, which Danaher said will allow Guild to scale faster.
“At Farther, advisers benefit from a transparent payout grid plus equity in the company,” Matthews said. “This structure ensures advisers are fairly compensated while also sharing in the company’s success, fostering alignment and growth for both advisers and Farther.”
Danaher also looks forward to what Guild will bring to the table for Farther with its more than 50 years in L.A. markets.
“Guild’s long history in Los Angeles brings deep local expertise, trusted relationships, and a strong reputation that perfectly complements Farther’s existing teams in the region and across the country,” Danaher said. “Together, we’re excited to enhance Farther’s presence in L.A., connecting more clients and advisers with its innovative, technology-driven wealth management solutions.”
