Corridor Partners with Events Firm

Sawtelle-based investor signs growth equity deal with Titan.

Sawtelle-based private equity firm Corridor Capital has struck a growth equity deal with Titan Investors, a producer of curated investment events.

Corridor, which invests in lower middle-market companies owned by entrepreneurs or families who want hands-on partnership, will help Miami-based Titan grow its “elite investment events and wealth retreats.” Financial details were not disclosed.

Thomas Mallon, who co-founded Titan with William McArdle in 2020, said the money will go toward “our technology, our infrastructure and our ability to bring this to new markets.”

“We chose Corridor because they were the partner who understood that the value is in the curation,” Mallon said in a statement. “Our team and our standards stay exactly as they are.”

Legal hurdles

Titan runs about 100 conferences a year in North American and Europe for asset managers, financial advisers and family offices and aspires to be a global business. Mallon and McArdle launched the company after working at Markets Group, which also puts on investment management events.

Shortly after leaving to start Titan, the duo was sued by their former employer for allegedly stealing trade secrets from Markets Group and using them to solicit clients, according to filings in the New York State Supreme Court.

Mallon and McArdle’s venture adds to Corridor’s portfolio of six other companies, most of which operate in the business services space, including a home service business coach and an educational marketing platform for financial advisers. The investment firm was drawn to the foundation, and trust Titan has built among sponsors and asset managers, said Craig Enenstein, chief executive at Corridor.

“(Mallon and McArdle) have built Titan with a clear point of view: the value of an event comes from who is in the room and the quality of the interaction,” Enenstein said in a statement. “We see meaningful opportunity to build on that foundation, and we are excited to support the team as Titan thoughtfully continues to expand.”
