City National Bank, a Los Angeles-based private bank and subsidiary of the Royal Bank of Canada, has announced plans to add a banking center in Washington D.C.

The new office will operate in 9,000-plus square feet close to Dupont Circle at 2001 M St. NW. Robin Burton, Chris Ragheb, Juan Jara and Chris Hartman will oversee more than a dozen financial experts there.

The full-service regional office will offer personal banking, mobile banking, online banking with bill pay, credit cards, residential mortgage loans, businesses credit lines, term loans, equipment financing, international banking and foreign exchange, and treasury management solutions. It is City National Bank’s second new regional office since merging with Royal Bank of Canada in 2015.

“This new regional center in Washington, D.C. will enable City National and RBC to provide clients in the Washington Metro Region with City National’s exceptional relationship banking and RBC’s wealth management solutions and capital markets expertise,” Russell Goldsmith, chief executive of City National Bank, said in a statement.

City National primarily services entrepreneurs, investors, small to mid-size businesses and nonprofit organizations.

City National currently has $48.7 billion in assets and manages $64.9 billion in client investment assets with locations in Southern California, San Francisco, Nevada, New York City, Nashville, Atlanta, Minneapolis and Washington D.C.
