Some employers who appreciate that work can be a stressful place are seeking help from a company that provides chaplains.
Marketplace Chaplains USA began in 1984 with one chaplain, founder and CEO Gil A. Stricklin and 150 employees. Today, it has a staff of more than 2,500, which supports 424 companies in 44 states, 23 different industries and 2,087 locations nationwide.
Eric Snyder, president of Snyder Manufacturing Corp. in Long Beach, was introduced to Marketplace at a conference for business owners.
“No specific religion is requested and participation is completely voluntary,” said Snyder. “And, it is really not a spiritual thing, but rather an opportunity for an employee to have a confidential discussion with someone independent from work, but familiar with the work environment.”
