Made the Cut: Glendale Memorial Hospital and Health Center has been ranked No. 1 in California for gastrointestinal surgery and No. 3 in heart surgery by health care ratings organization HealthGrades, based in Golden, Colo. HealthGrades based its rankings on patient outcomes at reviewed hospitals.

Overseas Outpost: East West Bancorp, the Pasadena-based parent of East West Bank, has opened an office in Taipei, Taiwan. The Taipei office will join East West’s Pacific Rim offices, which those in Beijing and Shanghai.

Notable Growth: Inphi Corp., a Westlake Village analog semiconductor company whose revenue has grown annually by more than 30 percent from 2004 to 2008, has made the fastest-growing list of Deloitte LLP. Inphi ranked no. 134 on business information services firm Deloitte’s Technology Fast 500 list of the 500 fastest-growing tech companies in North America.

Plugged In: Redmond, Wash., media company PlayNetwork Inc. has purchased Sherman Oaks-based Channel M, a creator of in-store advertising screen networks. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Medical Evaluation: Molina Medical Centers, a network of clinics owned by Long Beach-based Molina Healthcare Inc., has received a standards of excellence award for achieving commendable status from the California Association of Physician Groups. The association assessed the medical groups in the categories of care management practices, health information technology, patient centered care, and public accountability and transparency.

Saucy Client: Rogers Group, a Century City-based P.R. and marketing firm, has signed Kikkoman Corp. as a client. Rogers will be orchestrating a holiday season bloggers campaign for the Noda, Japan-based maker of soy and other Asian-style sauces.
Renewal Deal: Law firm Gipson Hoffman & Pancione has signed an 86-month, $5.5 million lease renewal with Douglas Emmett & Co. The deal covers 25,362 square feet of space at 1901 Avenue of the Stars.

Checking In: Body Contour Centers LLC has signed a 10-year, $4.1 million lease for medical office space in Beverly Hills with Archway Holdings-Wilmed LLC and Amir D. Hillgrove LLC. The deal covers 4,568 square feet of space at 9033 Wilshire Blvd.

Stock Offering: Nara Bancorp Inc., a Koreatown bank focused on the Korean American market, will offer about $70 million of its common stock in a secondary public offering. The bank holding company has not yet priced the offering or specified the number of shares to be sold. The company currently has 26 million shares outstanding.
