Gensler, a global giant in the architecture, design and planning industries, has signed a 12-year lease to move into City National Plaza in downtown Los Angeles after more than 20 years in Santa Monica.
The firm designed the Ritz Carlton/J.W. Marriott hotel at L.A. Live, is handling an overhaul of the 7+Fig shopping center and is among three finalists to design AEG’s proposed NFL stadium in South Park.
Gensler will take the top two floors of the “Jewel Box,” a three-story building between the twin 52-story towers of Thomas Properties Group’s City National Plaza. Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa and other officials were set to hold a press conference on the move Friday morning.
