Veronica Vasquez Montez, MD is a pillar of the Los Angeles community. She grew up in Los Angeles and, after graduating from Weill Cornell Medical College of Cornell University, she completed her residency at Los Angeles General (formerly LAC+USC). She held multiple leadership positions at LAC+USC, PIH Health and Good Samaritan Hospital and joined the faculty at the Keck School of Medicine of USC.
Most recently, Dr. Montez was named medical director of the emergency department at USC Arcadia Hospital, formerly Methodist Hospital of Southern California. She redesigned the flow of the department by walking through the patient journey and assessing any points where a patient might have additional needs. For example, a nurse is now stationed in the lobby to immediately meet patients and assist those who need assistance from their vehicle, as well as triage especially critical emergency patients.
