Dr. Sherril Rieux is not only a highly respected MD but also a compassionate advocate for the well-being of the community as a whole. In addition to her exemplary medical practice, Dr. Rieux generously donates her time and expertise to various community initiatives. As a board member of the Alzheimer’s nonprofit organization, Who’s Gonna Take Care of Me?, she plays an integral role in advancing programming and education about Alzheimer’s disease throughout LA County and surrounding areas. Her leadership and commitment have significantly contributed to the success and impact of the organization’s efforts in raising awareness and supporting individuals and families.
One of Dr. Rieux’s most notable contributions is her leadership in spearheading the “Elves for Alzheimer’s” Christmas program. Through this initiative, she and her team of dedicated volunteers have raised and donated over 40,000 adult briefs (diapers), toiletries and essential items to members of the community who are often overlooked and underserved.
