As the only full-time Japanese attorney at Jenner & Block, Miwa Shoda has overcome numerous obstacles to strengthen the US-Japan relationship and has been a key driver in the growth of the firm’s Japan Practice.
Her experience includes representing Japanese companies in various commercial litigation, arbitration and disputes in both federal and state courts across the US, as well as arbitration associations including ICDR, AAA, and JAMS. She has also represented several Japanese companies in a multitude of various corporate transactions including M&A, joint ventures, and real estate transactions. She is one of the few professionals in the US capable of providing such specialized, nuanced legal counsel that bridges two fundamentally different legal and business cultures.
