After several years serving as Michelman & Robinson, LLP’s (M&R’s) firm recruiting partner and head of its Labor & Employment practice, Lara Shortz was elevated to Los Angeles office managing partner in 2024. In this capacity, Shortz immediately set in motion an ambitious plan for the firm’s LA headquarters — an initiative known as “ONE:LA.” Through this strategy, Shortz is spearheading four key pillars of evolution for the office: growth (headcount and clients), professional development, community engagement, and enhanced internal communication and retention.
Under Shortz’s direction, the LA office has been recruiting lateral hires in vital practice areas, while simultaneously supporting existing attorneys in developing their books of business.
