EDUCATION: Martin Jr.

Perry Martin Jr.

Dean of Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Transformation

University of West Los Angeles (UWLA)

The University of West Los Angeles (UWLA) announced the appointment of Perry Martin Jr. as the university’s first Dean of Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Transformation. Dean Perry Martin also serves as Professor of Business and Director of Faculty Development for UWLA.

UWLA’s mission has long been focused on building a diverse, inclusive and caring community of faculty, staff and students. With a richly diverse faculty that includes many working professionals and programs designed for resilient learners with non-traditional academic backgrounds who are often under-supported, UWLA strives to make quality higher and postgraduate education affordable and accessible to those who might not otherwise have the opportunity.

“I am truly honored to be in a position to help design and implement the duties of this role. Our institution has a history of embracing DEI efforts and, moving forward, UWLA will continue to build upon its strategic diversity leadership plan and embrace DEI as a competitive advantage, versus being a passing trend,” said Dean Martin. “The opportunity that this new position holds to make a positive impact on the organizational culture of UWLA truly energizes me.”

Dean Martin earned an Associate’s Degree in General Studies from Central Texas College and graduated Summa Cum Laude with a Bachelors of Science Degree in Social Psychology from Park University. He holds a Masters of Business Administration, a Masters of Arts Degree in Management and Leadership, and a Masters of Arts Degree in Human Resource Development from Webster University.
