Suffolk has expanded its team of construction professionals in Los Angeles by hiring construction veteran Jim (James) P. Douglas II as Vice President and General Superintendent. Jim will lead Suffolk’s operations and project management functions in Southern California at a time of significant growth for the organization. Suffolk is responsible for projects across Los Angeles including 6th and San Julian, a 94 residential units priced for low- and very-low-income households, the Los Angeles Unified School District’s South Region Academy of Multilingual Arts and Sciences, and the Fig + Pico Conference Center Hotels, the mixed-use development featuring two separate select service hotels adjacent to the Los Angeles Convention Center in the South Park District of Downtown Los Angeles.
Prior to Suffolk, Mr. Douglas managed significant developments including San Diego State Aztec Stadium & West Campus, University of California San Diego North Torrey Pines Living & Learning and Padres Ballpark and Salesforce Tower, among other projects. Suffolk is a national enterprise with $5 billion in annual revenue and a strong presence on the West Coast, with offices in Los Angeles, San Francisco and San Diego. Suffolk services clients in the commercial, life sciences, healthcare, education, gaming, transportation/aviation, mission critical and government sectors.
