Lucinda Place is instrumental in the development and implementation of strategies to improve the quality of the care provided at PIH Health and to achieve patient safety throughout PIH Health, which is composed of hospitals in downtown Los Angeles, Whittier and Downey and 35 medical office buildings located throughout Los Angeles County and beyond. In her current role, she has oversight of Quality Management, Performance Excellence, Patient Safety, Medical Staff Services, and Infection Prevention, and joint, bariatric and stroke programs. The importance of her roles has been magnified throughout the COVID-19 pandemic as initiatives launched by her team positively impacted the health of patients, physicians and staff.
Place began her career at PIH Health in 1988, as a critical care nurse. In her more than three decades with the organization, she has demonstrated her tenacity, innovation, commitment to patient care and exemplary leadership skills.
