Paduano & Weintraub partner Lisia Leon recently represented an employer (a large public company, with locations in over 100 cities across the US) in connection with a class action federal wage and hour suit brought by a former employee. Leon successfully opposed the plaintiff’s efforts to certify a nationwide collective consisting of hundreds of locations and thousands of employees over a six-year period. Following a mediation, Leon obtained a favorable class-wide settlement for close to 2,000 other employees.
Leon also recently secured summary judgment for a real estate management group, board of a condominium building and individual board members on claims of tortious interference with contract and whistleblower claims. She also successfully obtained a favorable settlement for another client, an operator of a website, in connection with a web access case brought pursuant to UNRUH.
