After spending more than a decade working at law firms of all sizes, Jason Kelly decided last May to start a new litigation law firm in Los Angeles with two of his partners. The firm is focused on providing high-quality litigation representation to smaller and mid-sized companies.
Kelly, along with another of his colleagues, also had the privilege of trying the first in-person federal civil jury trial in the Central District of California when the court lifted restrictions on in-person trials during the COVID-19 pandemic. In addition to adapting to the various COVID-related restrictions and precautions, they were also faced with a judge who imposed a tight trial schedule likely due to a heavy backlog. Despite the complex intellectual property issues involved in the claims, Kelly and the team rose to the challenge. They streamlined the case, adhered to the schedule and secured a jury verdict for their client.
