Hernandez successfully defended a major California health plan in a lawsuit brought by a group of ten commonly owned substance use treatment providers that alleged that the plan owed them millions in unpaid or underpaid claims. Following a two-month trial, a jury found that the providers were entitled to nothing and had in fact defrauded the plan, had interfered with contracts and were liable under RICO.
