Akin partner Dan Lynch is a highly regarded leader in the firm’s Projects & Energy Transition practice. He is regularly called upon to assist leading renewable energy clients in cutting-edge, sophisticated transactions, with a particular focus on power hedges – highly complex financial tools that require the market acumen and experience of a derivatives lawyer alongside the insight into, and practical knowledge of renewable energy, of a projects practitioner.
As part of his practice, Lynch plays leading roles in many significant matters for key renewable industry players. Recent examples include leading the representations for Excelsior Energy Capital, a leading independent North American renewable energy investor, in its $1.3 billion financing package for the Faraday Solar project in Utah County, Utah. Lynch and the Akin team also represented Excelsior in its acquisition of Faraday Solar earlier this year from Parasol and Clenera.
