Katherine Smith is the leader of the firm’s DEI Task Force, and a partner in its Los Angeles office, has extensive experience representing employers in individual, representative, and class action litigation at both the trial court and appellate level. In addition to litigation, Smith dedicates a significant portion of her practice to advice and counseling, as well as internal investigations.
Smith and Gibson Dunn secured a major victory for Ford when the court declined to interpret and enforce a labor arbitration decision against Ford and instead ordered the matter to arbitration. Ford moved to compel arbitration, with Smith presenting oral argument on March 4. The Court agreed that any interpretation of the decision and factual questions were best left to an arbitrator.
