Alexis Laing, president and CEO of Laing Companies has nearly 20 years of experience representing affordable housing developers and financiers on complex and high-profile projects. She had a pivotal role in the design and financing of the Evermont project, a mixed-use, transit-oriented affordable housing community in South Los Angeles located on a site left vacant and blighted since the 1992 civil uprising.
Liang’s most significant achievement to date is arguably the launch of Laing Companies in 2022, which made her one of the few black women to own an affordable housing development and consulting firm in the country. Her dedication and care to affordable housing development is expressed through a holistic approach emphasizing collaboration, community engagement and capacity building.
