Rod Berman has been on the cutting edge of intellectual property law for over 40 years. He has represented an array of clients in connection with patent, trade secret, trademark, internet and copyright issues, including the Smurf properties, Allergan, Shimano, U-Haul, Therabody, Paige and Cherokee. He represents several wine brands including the iconic Screaming Eagle, and has represented several well-known directors, a cinematographer, a sym-phony conductor, actors and an NBA team. A multi-directional lawyer, Berman has handled numerous intellectual property litigations, including successful appeals before the Federal Circuit and 9th Circuit. He has also lobbied before the California Legislature regarding an amendment to the California unfair competition laws. Berman recently co-authored the article “Inconsis-tency and Confusion in the Judicial Treat-ment of Counterfeiting Claims,” published in The Trademark Reporter.
