Malissa Gaitan applies her extensive accounting knowledge to serve the diverse needs of Southern California clients ranging from mutual funds to alternative funds to REITs. She works closely with large fund complexes and small privately held entities dealing with complex investments, capital structures, and transactions. She has experience in a variety of accounting, operational, and SEC reporting issues as they relate to various fund products. Additionally, Gaitan is the Los Angeles office champion for the firm’s premier audit automation tool and serves as a mentor to teach others how to maximize their efficiency while maintaining audit quality in using the tool.
Gaitan also mentors new joiners and up-and-coming team members about their careers and development in accounting. With respect to her community outside of PwC, she led an initiative at the UCI’s Center of Investment Wealth Management’s LifeVest program.
