Since joining the American Red Cross Los Angeles Region in July 2020, she has overseen a team of staff and volunteers serving over 10 million residents across five chapters. Nowlin’s resilience and strategic acumen were evident as she guided her team through major disaster responses, including the 2025 California Wildfires, Hurricane Irma, Hurricane Dorian, and the Parkland Shooting. Nowlin’s professional journey is marked by her commitment to alleviating human suffering. Her leadership skills were honed at esteemed organizations such as Florida Atlantic University, Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, Gilda’s Club South Florida, and Kids In Distress. She holds a bachelor’s degree in finance from Florida State University, which has provided a strong foundation for her impactful work. Nowlin’s innovative strategies have not only enhanced the effectiveness of the Red Cross’s disaster response but have also strengthened the organization’s presence in the community. She has a passion for growing community outreach, strengthening government relationships and providing unwavering support to those impacted by disasters. With a deep commitment to celebrating diversity, she has fostered a culture of inclusivity and respect within her team, ensuring that every voice is heard and valued. Nowlin’s vision for the future includes expanding the Red Cross’s reach to underserved areas and implementing programs that address the root causes of vulnerability.
