The Greater Los Angeles Veterans Research and Education Foundation’s (GLAVREF’s) mission, (“building partnerships to advance research and education for the health of our nation’s Veterans”) is designed specifically to further research focused on health issues directly impacting Veterans. In pursuit of this objective, GLAVREF offers a comprehensive range of services to researchers and project personnel. These services encompass grants and contracts administration, human resources management, and technical assistance for seamless grant submissions. Moreover, GLAVREF takes a proactive stance in promoting initiatives and educational endeavors for VA clinicians and researchers.
Functioning as a VA-affiliated research foundation, GLAVREF operates as a non-profit corporation (NPC). These aligned entities are established under a federally authorized statute enacted in 1988. Presently, GLAVREF stands as one of the 79 active VA-affiliated research and education non-profits dedicated to serving the VA’s nationwide network.
GLAVREF’s collaboration with VA scientists spans across key areas, including grants management, clinical trial oversight, financial administration, and staffing and procurement. With a steadfast commitment to superior administration and capacity enhancement, GLAVREF contributes to the fortification of a more robust, nimble, and responsive research infrastructure at VA Greater Los Angeles.
