VIRGINIA BERGMAN LOO
Chief Financial Officer
Child Care Resource Center
A passion for helping children and giving back to the community drew Virginia Berg-man Loo to CCRC and now, as Chief Financial Officer, she works to support families in a bigger way. Prior to coming to CCRC, Loo worked for 13 years a role as vice president of transformation. Before that, she was a director of finance in hospitality.
In her previous experiences working for private and public corporations, she has driven strategy focused on accelerated growth, improved profitability, managed costs, created efficiencies, and mitigated risk. Loo has brought her perspective of a for-profit mindset from larger companies to CCRC, a non-profit. This includes putting rigor around internal controls, monthly balance sheet reconciliations, regular month-end financial close and reviews, strengthening AR collection and improving cash use. This also includes better support and transparency for the organization with a more robust and resourced finance and accounting team in the areas of FP&A, AP, accounting and leadership roles. Under her stewardship, the finance team at CCRC has added team members, which included restructuring to align the work functionally. Workday was implemented for financials, as was Adaptive for financial planning and reporting. These changes were made to support the growth of the organization but also continue to innovate, allowing us to reduce time to complete tasks, optimize decision-making, and align the work to continue supporting the community CCRC serves. Loo’s financial leadership has also allowed CCRC to explore other possible services to the community and more opportunities to collaborate with LA County and the State of California on much-needed services.
