Jarred Walker, a visionary leader in the construction industry, has cultivated a remarkable career that spans over two decades. Jarred’s construction career began in his early teenage years and continued through college, where he gained hands-on experience in various roles, from labor and demolition to office administration, on projects across the diverse landscape of LA County.
After graduating from the University of California, Santa Barbara, Jarred took his first salaried position at The Irvine Company, where he honed his skills in construction management before making significant contributions to two of LA’s largest Interiors General Contractors for nearly 15 years. In 2018, he co-founded GCX, a General Contractor that, under his leadership, rapidly grew into a 9-figure powerhouse in just two years. The company boasts a stellar client list, corporate-grade systems and procedures, and an impressive portfolio of compelling projects.
Community involvement is a cornerstone of Jarred’s ethos. Serving on the board of Las Familias del Pueblo, a community center adjacent to Skid Row, demonstrates his commitment to social responsibility. He played a pivotal role in the construction of their permanent location, providing both financial contributions and ongoing maintenance support, showcasing a dedication to uplifting marginalized communities.
 In the construction industry, Jarred has consistently achieved outstanding results on some of the most challenging developments and improvements throughout LA County. His impenetrable process involves leveraging and accelerating the construction administration, overcoming communication barriers prevalent in the industry, and ensuring accountability throughout the team. The recurring theme of on-time, on-budget, and high-quality outcomes underscores his commitment to project success. However, Jarred’s impact extends beyond construction, he constantly is talking with brokers, architects, and developers to educate and relay up-to-date construction data including costs, timing, and answering any construction questions his network has.
Over the past 24 months, Jarred’s involvement in major projects has been nothing short of impressive. The completion of the NETFLIX Animation HQ (300K SF TI + Studio build-out), Warner Bros Discovery (240K SF TI build-out), McKinsey & Co (TI build-out with interconnecting stair at Floors 70 & 69 of US Bank Tower), LUCID Motors (structural adjoining of 2 historic buildings, and interior/exterior museum-grade build-out on Wilshire in Beverly Hills), and Latham & Watkins (100K SF TI build-out in Century City) showcases his versatility in handling diverse and complex projects. These achievements underscore his ability to navigate the intricacies of each endeavor while maintaining a commitment to excellence.
 Jarred’s exemplary leadership is evident in the growth of GCX from its inception with a partner and two others in 2018 to an organization of 75 within three short years. His leadership is characterized by clear standards of excellence, strong communication, and an unwavering commitment to client service.
