Mirna Orihuela is a first-generation Latina college graduate. She currently holds the position of regional DME manager at Kaiser Permanente overseeing the operations for the Southern California and Hawaii divisions. Prior to joining Kaiser Permanente, Orihuela held management positions in Post-Acute, Transitional Care, and Detox Services. She has experience navigating and understanding the care continuum from acute, post-acute and behavioral health lenses.

Orihuela has made a significant contribution to the Southern California healthcare communities by being able to educate the community regarding the impacts and solutions regarding bridging gaps in post-acute care. She was a speaker for the Southern California Healthcare Executives of Southern California on the topic of “Transitions of Care: Bridging the Gaps.” This past spring, she coordinated a preparatory study series for a cohort of 33 ACHE executives, interested in obtaining their FACHE accreditation; the exam is designed to test the knowledge of healthcare executives in 10 areas of healthcare and the ability to apply it to real-world scenarios.

Orihuela continues to help others build successful careers by being a mentor/advisor in healthcare, post-acute strategy, and career/professional development. Additionally, she has held board positions as Chair of Sponsorship and Board of Governors (BOG) for Health-care Executives of Southern California. Currently, she is an advisory board member for the California Hospital Association – Center for Post-Acute Acute Advisory Board. Her memberships include the American College of Healthcare Executives, Healthcare Financial Management Association, and Women in Health Administration of Southern California.
