Cheryl Calhoun, a managing director at CBIZ & MHM Los Angeles, brings more than 30 years of experience and expertise to her work. She champions the mission of organizations she supports by building strategic relationships and ensuring that the partnerships are in the best interest of each organization. She was recently
named chair elect of the Board of the American Lung Association (ALA). Calhoun has worked with the ALA for more than 10 years, where she helped build the inaugural Local Leadership Board in Los Angeles. She then moved on to chair the Finance Committee of the California Charter, and then moved to the National Board as California’s representative. She then served on the committee tasked with initiating, investigating, and executing the consolidation of the nine independent Charters of the ALA into one national organization. Since that consolidation, Calhoun has served on the Finance Committee, and served on and chaired the Audit Risk and Oversight Committee, culminating in her election to Chair of the Board.
In addition to her work with the ALA in Los Angeles, Calhoun has also been influential in maintaining the success of Dress for Success Worldwide-West (DFS) by serving as a founding member of its Advisory Council since 2010.
Throughout her career, Calhoun has been a true inspiration and has demonstrated a deep compassion for community organizations and helping them fulfill their missions. In addition to her involvement with ALA and DFS, her community involvement includes leadership roles with CalPrivate Bank Community, Women Founders Network, Minnie House, Team Heal, Urban Compass, and CBIZ Women’s Advantage.
