DirecTV Holdings LLC said that it will redeem for cash a large group of senior notes that would have been due 2015.

The unit of El Segundo satellite television provider DirecTV said that it will redeem the 6.375 percent notes on June 15 at a price of 102.125 percent of the principal amount plus interest accrued by the redemption date. As of Monday, $659 million in aggregate principal amount of notes remains outstanding, the company said.

Shares on Tuesday closed up 3 cents, or less than 1 percent, to $49.29 on the Nasdaq.
