Radio Station KFI-AM Moves Up Ratings Ladder

Talk station KFI-AM (640) climbed to second place in L.A. radio ratings during the month of April, according to Arbitron ratings released on Monday.

KFI, owned by Clear Channel Communications, claimed a 4.5 percent share of listeners compared to 4.3 percent in March. It overtook adult contemporary station KOST-FM (103.5) which dropped a notch to third place with a 4.4 percent share in April, down from 4.6 percent in March.

Top 40 station KIIS-FM (102.7) continues to dominate by remaining in first place. It claimed a 5.2 percent share of listeners in April, up slightly from 5.1 percent in March.

KIIS and KOST are also owned by Clear Channel.

Classic hits station KRTH-FM (101.1), owned by CBS Radio, remained in fourth place with a 4.2 percent share for the second month in a row.

Rounding out the top five was urban station KPWR-FM (105.9). Owned by Emmis Communications, the station had a share of 3.8 percent in April – the same as in March.
