Top 40 station KIIS-FM (102.7) held on to the top spot in local radio ratings for the fourth month in a row.

The station, owned by Clear Channel Communications Inc., claimed a 5.8 percent share of listeners in the month of April, according to rankings released Wednesday by Arbitron Inc. That’s up from a 5.7 percent share in March.

Classic hits station KRTH-FM (101.1) pulled into second place with a 4.9 percent share. Adult contemporary station KOST-FM (103.5) fell from second to third place with 4.4 percent.

News talk station KFI-AM (640) remained in fourth place with a 4.3 percent share, up three-tenths of a point since March. KIIS’ pop-hit rival KAMP-FM (97.1) stayed in fifth place but its share dropped from 4 percent to 3.7 in April.

Smooth adult-contemporary station KTWV-FM (94.7) dropped two-tenths to a 3.3 percent share to end in a four-way tie for ninth place. In March KTWV held the sixth-place position with a 3.5 percent share. The station announced on Tuesday that it was cancelling radio veteran Don Burns’ afternoon show.
