Women’s Leadership Series Panelists: Ellen Way

Bio: With more than 35 years of experience in the construction industry, Ellen Way is dedicated to paving the way for women in a male dominated field. Way was one of the first women to join the laborers union in Boston and continues to break down the glass ceiling as senior superintendent and now director of field operations for Shangri-La Construction.

As a Lead Superintendent and Project Scheduler for Shangri-La Construction in Los Angeles, her experience allows her to expand the approach to typical facets of construction. Way’s LEED AP certification distinguishes her as a green building expert who implements sustainable practices and helps reduce environmental impact in construction of new buildings. She has been a part of Shangri-La’s work in elevating, celebrating, and recognizing women in construction. Way is a do-er, collaborator and master communicator, celebrating opportunity and continuing to shatter the glass ceiling in this industry.

Way’s portfolio extends from high-rise condos to elementary schools and universities. She has worked on high-profile projects including: Staples Center, UC Riverside/UCLA student housing, The Forum, Ten50, Northrop Grumman and Herbalife Towers.
