Adaeze Cadet’s architectural career breaks barriers and misperceptions about the capability of Black women in architecture. Over the past 15 years she has successfully performed in multiple leadership positions and produced exceptional designs praised by the likes of Wehoville, Lonny Magazine and Design Milk, and continuously adds strength to her design teams and mentees.
HOK’s LA studio is comprised of 75% female leadership and Cadet is currently the first female design principal at HOK, opening the door for future female design leaders. She has already become a significant influence, shaping the firm with her extraordinary integrity and creativity. As design principal she is currently working on various large-scale entertainment, commercial and science & technology projects among other disciplines in the studio. Additionally, Cadet was an instrumental design team leader in winning the $220 million-dollar, 241-key Robertson Lane Hotel in West Hollywood.
