Robert Perrin has led Latham & Watkins’ Los Angeles Litigation Department for over 12 years as its Co-Chair. He handles complex business litigation, securities litigation and professional liability matters, with a client roster that includes Fortune 500 companies, financial institutions, and major accounting firms.
Recently, Perrin has served as the lead attorney representing PG&E in connection with all shareholder litigation related to the devastating October 2017 Northern California wildfires and the November 2018 Camp fire. At last count, the fires have led to the filing of two federal securities class actions (now consolidated), and eight separate derivative lawsuits in state and federal court. This has put Perrin at the forefront of devising defenses to the recent wave of ‘event-driven’ securities litigation, where natural disasters, accidents and mass tort events are now giving rise to shareholder claims across the country.
