Mark D. Kemple, Greenberg Traurig’s national Co-Chair of its L&E Class and Collective Action Practice and leader of its southern California L&E Practice, is nationally recognized as one of the leading labor and employment class and collective action litigators. In the past two years, Kemple has scored significant wins for major clients such as Walmart, Abercrombie and Fitch, and Marriott Ownership Resorts, and secured a precedent-setting decision on behalf of client KFC. This latter success followed years of Kemple’s focus in the area of removals. Kemple also successfully argued this in 2018 on behalf of Great American Chicken Corporation (dba KFC), holding that a plaintiff does not establish the “local controversy” exception to federal jurisdiction under the Class Action Fairness Act if more than two-thirds of the class-action members are citizens of the forum state.
