Pegi Matsuda is an experienced and enthusiastic business and community leader with more than 30 years of experience during times of significant industry challenge. She’s led change in several industries including telecommunications, natural gas, publishing, a membership organization and health care.
Throughout her career, she’s led numerous successful initiatives including the following:
• Reorganized functional departments for two Fortune 500 corporations
• Created and successfully launched consumer products and services
• Created and/or led several functional departments such as marketing, advertising, communications, public affairs, community relations, fund raising
• Led a local business publication from post-launch to profitability and national recognition
• Planned and implemented more than 150 business and community special events
• Led state-wide corporate philanthropy program which donated millions of dollars throughout California
• Created and implemented numerous business and community coalitions
• Led a membership services department of a large Chamber of Commerce and significantly increased membership revenue
• Launched a not for profit Foundation, built a board of directors and governance processes
• Experienced hospital community benefit program executive leader
Pegi has received numerous awards and honors for her business success and community service from the Valley Care Community Consortium, VICA, VEDC, the San Fernando Valley Bar Association, MEND, Haven Hills, and the Valley Economic Alliance.
She was selected as “Woman of the Year” by the 43rd California State Assembly District and is on the list of the “Valley Top 200” published by the San Fernando Valley Business Journal. She’s served, or currently serves, as a member of the boards of directors for the VEDC, VICA, the Valley Economic Alliance, ACG-101 Corridor, Woodbury University, Southern California Association for Healthcare Development, Valley Presbyterian Hospital, West Hills Hospital and the Community Foundation of the Valley.
She holds an MA in Organizational Leadership from Woodbury University and a BS in Human Relations and Organizational Behavior from the University of San Francisco. She holds the designation of Certified Fund Raising Executive (CFRE) from CFRE International.
